I recently learned about the supervolcano near Naples, Italy. According to Reuters, the area near Naples and Pozzuoli, the Phlegraean Fields, has ”risen by 3.5 m (yards) in 15 years, the most since medieval times”. This area is the site of an eight-mile wide caldera with one million people living within it.
