Annular Solar Eclipse 2014

When the moon covers up the sun, skywatchers delight in the opportunity to see a rare spectacle.

I would have loved to see the annular solar eclipse today, but only the penguins in a remote part of Antarctica saw the full eclipse. Many saw the partial eclipse in Australia, however.

The infographic describes the relative sizes of the Moon and the Sun as a “cosmic coincidence.” Our position on The Sovereign is that God made them to be just the right sizes and distances for this spectacular display.

Thanks to Space.com for the infographic on solar eclipses and for the photo gallery of today’s eclipse.
