Archaeological Evidence for the Tabernacle

Thanks to my friend, Pam, who alerted me to this article about archaeological excavations in Shiloh.

Obviously, a structure of wood and fabric is not going to leave much behind after centuries of time, but the archaeologists already knew to excavate around Shiloh and believe they’ve found some evidence of where the Tabernacle may have been set up.

When I looked up where the Bible mentions that the Tabernacle was in Shiloh, I found Psalm 78: 59 – 61 NIV. In context, God removes the Tabernacle and the Ark from Israel because of their idolatry:

When God heard them, he was furious;
    he rejected Israel completely.
He abandoned the tabernacle of Shiloh,
    the tent he had set up among humans.
He sent the ark of his might into captivity,
    his splendor into the hands of the enemy.

This is a good reminder to pray for Israel to turn to God and accept Israel’s Messiah, Yeshua Ha’Mashiach.
